Job Description:
As a Proposal Lead (Federal) at Axon, you will be instrumental in driving the success of our pursuits within the federal government sector. You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end proposal development process, ensuring the creation of compelling and compliant proposals that articulate Axon's value proposition and secure contract wins. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing, project management, and collaboration skills to effectively navigate complex federal procurements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of federal proposal development, from opportunity identification through submission.
- Develop comprehensive proposal strategies, including win themes, technical approaches, management plans, and pricing strategies, tailored to specific federal requirements.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, business development, product management, engineering, and legal, to gather necessary information and ensure alignment.
- Write and edit persuasive proposal content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with solicitation requirements.
- Develop and maintain proposal outlines, compliance matrices, schedules, and action item trackers to ensure timely and efficient proposal completion.
- Conduct thorough reviews of proposal drafts to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to all requirements.
- Manage proposal team assignments, track progress, and facilitate effective communication among team members.
- Analyze solicitation documents (RFPs, RFQs, etc.) to identify key requirements, evaluation criteria, and potential risks and opportunities.
- Incorporate feedback from internal reviews and subject matter experts to strengthen proposal content.
- Maintain a library of proposal content, templates, and best practices to improve efficiency and quality.
- Stay informed about federal procurement regulations, trends, and competitor activities.
About You:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in proposal development, preferably focused on the U.S. Federal Government sector.
Skills Abilities:
- Proven track record of successfully leading and winning federal government proposals.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and business concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of federal procurement processes and regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS).
- Experience with proposal management software and tools is highly desirable.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
