Job Description

Reporting to the Front Desk Manager, the Assistant Front Desk Manager will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the front office. This position involves assisting with the supervision of front desk staff, ensuring seamless guest check-in and check-out processes, and providing exceptional service to all guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Front Desk Manager in overseeing daily front office operations, ensuring adherence to Accor standards and procedures.
  • Support the Front Desk team in providing efficient and courteous guest check-in and check-out services, resolving any guest inquiries or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and motivating front desk agents to deliver exceptional guest service and maintain high performance levels.
  • Ensure that all front desk staff are knowledgeable about hotel services, local attractions, and Accor loyalty programs.
  • Handle guest complaints and feedback effectively, escalating complex issues to the Front Desk Manager as needed, and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with managing room inventory and reservations to maximize occupancy and revenue.
  • Prepare daily reports and ensure accurate handling of guest billing and payments.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel emergency procedures and ensure the safety and security of guests and staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments, such as housekeeping, reservations, and guest services, to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Assist with scheduling and payroll for the front desk team as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment within the front office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Front Desk Manager or hotel management.

Qualifications

  • BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a front office role within a hotel environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management systems (PMS).
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10-15 pounds occasionally.
  • A positive and professional demeanor, strong organizational skills, and a passion for hospitality.
