Federal Corporate Counsel

Description:

As a Federal Corporate Counsel at Axon, you will be a crucial legal advisor, focusing on matters related to our federal government business. You will provide expert legal counsel and support to various internal teams, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, managing contracts, and mitigating legal risks associated with our interactions with federal agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to Axon's teams involved in federal government contracts, procurement, and related activities.
• Interpret and apply federal laws, regulations, and guidelines relevant to Axon's business, including but not limited to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific regulations.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of federal government contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on compliance matters, ethics, and integrity in the context of federal government interactions.
• Collaborate closely with business development, sales, and product teams to identify and address legal risks and opportunities in the federal sector.
• Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to federal legal requirements.
• Manage and resolve legal disputes and inquiries involving federal government entities.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in federal laws, regulations, and case law that may impact Axon's business.
• Conduct legal training for internal stakeholders on relevant federal contracting and compliance topics.
• Work with outside counsel as needed on specialized federal government legal matters.

About You:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to and good standing with a state bar.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience practicing law, with a significant focus on federal government contracting.

Skills Abilities:

• In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition law, regulations, and the government contracting process.
• Proven ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical and strategic legal advice.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working with federal government agencies (e.g., Department of Justice, Department of Defense) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with technology and software industries is a plus.
